Ana Schurmann has shared a new self-produced single that combines orchestral colour, contemporary songwriting and a broader message of peace.
“Peacemakers” features a wide instrumental palette, including her Neck Lyre, alongside piano, guitar, percussion, flutes and multiple vocal layers. Initially written spontaneously, the track later developed into a project supporting awareness around vulnerable children and community care.
The release continues her wider practice of combining music with scientific research and design. Her recent work has included translating gravitational-wave observations into composition, as well as developing wearable instruments that connect jewellery, performance and acoustic experimentation.
Previously recognised by Forbes Under 30 Brazil, Ana Schurmann has also worked extensively within fashion and is a member of the Recording Academy.
“Peacemakers” reflects the central idea behind much of her recent work: using creative practice as a meeting point for disciplines that are usually kept separate.
