Americana-rock outfit Left Arm Tan are preparing to release their seventh studio album, 'When Tigers Smoked', marking their return following a lengthy period of personal challenges and musical inactivity.

Following previous singles ‘Amsterdam’ and ‘Rolling Under The Stars’, the thirteen-track record explores ageing, mortality, resilience, relationships and lessons learned through difficult experiences.

The album emerged after songwriter Daniel Hines underwent five surgeries in 2025, temporarily leaving him unable to play guitar. During his recovery, Hines wrote more than fifty songs, eventually developing the material alongside longtime collaborator Brian Lee.

Working with producer Salim Nourallah, the band recorded the album over six days, prioritising live performances and minimal overdubbing to preserve its natural sound.
