Pakistani producer MALIK. has released a new EP centred on the changing possibilities of electronic dance music.

IRIDESCENCE brings together elements of jungle, drum & bass, dubstep, UK garage, hardgroove and bass-heavy club production across six tracks.

While firmly designed with dancefloors in mind, the project also carries a wider ambition. MALIK. hopes the release will contribute to a broader understanding of Pakistani and South Asian electronic music, particularly work emerging outside more familiar commercial genres.

Its concept is built around the relationship between colour, texture and sound, with visual perception informing the way the music was constructed.

The Lahore artist has already taken his work beyond Pakistan through performances in Kathmandu and Cox’s Bazaar, alongside appearances on international radio and music platforms.
