Left Arm Tan make a triumphant return with ‘Rolling Under The Stars’

After two years away, Left Arm Tan are back in magnificent fashion with ‘Rolling Under The Stars’, the first taste of their forthcoming album 'When Tigers Smoked', arriving October 9.

Right from the beginning, the single feels tailor-made for the open road. Sweeping strings, gorgeous slide guitar and flashes of celebratory brass surround understated vocals, bringing classic Americana together with the rich Texan storytelling that has long made the band such a compelling proposition.

There's an even bigger story behind their return, as songwriter Daniel Hines underwent multiple surgeries before facing months of recovery and uncertainty over whether he would perform again. Instead, he threw himself into songwriting, completing an astonishing 57 songs in five months and eventually reconnecting with his Left Arm Tan bandmates.

That reunion became 'When Tigers Smoked'. Produced by Salim Nourallah, the record was captured live across just six days in Dallas, largely dispensing with click tracks, vocal correction and extensive overdubbing in favour of genuine performances.

Previously championed by Saving Country Music and No Depression, Left Arm Tan have returned with renewed purpose. Warm, beautifully played and loaded with feeling, ‘Rolling Under The Stars’ makes their comeback feel well worth the wait.
