Gia Margaret shares new single 'Alive Inside'

Chicago artist Gia Margaret has announced her upcoming album 'Singing', set for release on the 24th April via Jagjaguwar, alongside the unveiling of her new single 'Alive Inside'.

The track arrives as a delicate and emotionally charged preview of the record, built around soft piano motifs and subtle, immersive textures. Margaret’s vocal delivery feels both intimate and searching, drifting through layers of synth and Wurlitzer as the song explores distance, longing and the need for reassurance in moments of emotional weight.

'Alive Inside' also marks a significant personal milestone. After years away from vocal performance due to injury, her return to singing is central to the album’s identity. The single was recorded in Eau Claire with collaborator Sean Carey, with additional contributions from long-time creative partner Doug Saltzman.

'Singing' represents her first vocal-focused release since 2018, following a period where she explored instrumental and ambient compositions. With this new chapter, Gia Margaret blends those atmospheric sensibilities with more traditional songwriting, creating a sound that feels both grounded and expansive.
