Having broken through as a songwriter and producer for the likes of Laleh, Nea, Sandro Cavazza, VÉRITÉ and Karen Harding in recent years, Swedish-Iranian artist Natali Noor is back to unveil her infectiously catchy new single 'Policeman'.
Channelling a fresh and bouncing dancehall-inspired groove from start to finish, 'Policeman' is the perfect introduction to these warming summer days. Jam-packed with bold rhythms, hip-shaking grooves, and her own passionate vocals layered throughout, she is certainly set for big things in the months ahead.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her background and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
Robyn was the first artist I fell in love with. I performed her songs in front of the mirror every day and she made me fall in love with pop music.
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
When I was 16, I formed a duo with my best friend, and we wrote a lot of pop ballads on the piano. Then I tried to learn production - I made my first track ever for us, which was a super hard dubstep track that I forced her to sing on with me.
I thought it was the coolest thing ever made. It sounds like crap when I listen to it today, but I am so happy I experimented and had the confidence.
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
For me, writing music is about expressing myself and a form of escapism. I get inspired by daily life with a pinch of drama, series and movies, my friends' problems and my own. I like to make up stories as well, and make up a fantasy world.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Paper Planes by M.I.A. It’s a brilliant pop song, such a catchy, fun production while the lyrics satirise the negative stereotypes about immigrants.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
In the beginning of my career I got to play at the Summerburst festivals, because I had produced the Summerburst anthem 2016. I was only 20 and I’m not sure I really understood what a huge deal that was at the time. But it was amazing.
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
I would love to share a stage with Lady Gaga. We would make a crazy show together.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
I would love to collaborate with Major Lazer, Tove Lo, MØ, M.I.A, Charli XCX, Doja Cat. It’s too hard to choose one. I love bold artists.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
In five years I want to have made chart topping hits, played a lot of live shows around the world, and produced and written for big artists. But most important of all, I see myself be happy.
