Following on from the enormous response to their stunning EP 'Iron Lung' earlier this year, which earned them ratio play on BBC Introducing and BBC 6Music, Brighton-based outfit Comforts return once again with their vibrant new single 'Pink'.
Channelling a wonderfully bright and sun-kissed indie-rock direction from start to finish, 'Pink' makes for a brilliantly alluring listen. Filled with sweeping hooks, a soaring atmosphere, and heartfelt vocals throughout, these guys are certainly set to rise through the ranks in the months ahead.
So with the new single available now, we sat down with them to find out more about their background and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
The Maccabees. Their song First Love pretty much had me hooked to their music for
years!
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they
sound like?
Yes! Before Comforts was a band called Capture, made up of mates from college. We wrote a lot of songs and made a lot of great memories, some of the early shows we played were crazy! I have a lot of love for that band.
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
I think the idea of travelling around meeting new people, playing music you love &
sharing great memories with is the main reason we write music. I’m hoping that we
can travel the world with it some day!
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Skinny Love by Bon Iver or Toothpaste Kisses by The Maccabees, it’s a tough one to
choose.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
Yeah I think that our first headline show at Brixton’s Hootananny was our favourite
yet, I hope all of our shows will be like that from here on out - if not better!
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
Sharing a stage with the likes of Sam Fender would be crazy!
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
I’d love to have a session writing with Orlando Weeks from the Maccabees. I met
him once at a record shop in Brighton and he's very lovely! Although I would
probably just end up asking more questions than actually doing any writing haha.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Hopefully playing Glastonbury. That would be sweet!
