London dream-pop duo Babeheaven return from a long pause with 'Beloved', their first release since 2020’s 'Sink Into Me'. Released via Scenic Route, the track is a hushed, heart-on-sleeve meditation that quietly reintroduces vocalist Nancy Andersen and producer Jamie Travis to the world.
Born out of solitude, 'Beloved' began as Nancy’s first solo production, a stripped-back, almost whispered piece featuring acoustic guitar, Wurlitzer, and Mellotron. It explores themes of memory, grief, and love’s lingering presence, conjuring a spectral intimacy. “Beloved is kind of a myth… someone who’s gone but still present,” Nancy shares. “She carries you, rocks you like a boat.” Jamie’s late additions of bass and percussion, recorded in Nancy’s attic studio, complete the track.
With a dedicated following earned through standout releases 'Home For Now' and 'Sink Into Me', Babeheaven have carved out a distinct space in the UK alt-pop landscape. Their blend of soulful vocals, downtempo textures, and visual artistry has won over critics and fans alike, from The Guardian and MOJO to BBC Radio 1, KCRW, and sold-out headline shows across London.
