Animal Collective drop new single 'Buddies On The Blackboard'

Experimental pop pioneers Animal Collective have unveiled their new song 'Buddies On The Blackboard', the B-side to their forthcoming 'Love On the Big Screen' 7-inch, out now via Domino.

Produced by Avey Tare and Adam McDaniel, and engineered at Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville, NC, 'Buddies On the Blackboard' expands the sonic universe the band have been crafting around this release cycle; dreamlike, playful, and off-kilter in the way only Animal Collective can be. The track arrives with an animated visualiser from longtime collaborator Abby Portner, capturing the band’s colourful and surreal aesthetic.

The 7-inch marks a special release for fans and collectors alike, showcasing two previously unreleased tracks that hint at the group’s current creative mode: introspective yet whimsical, homespun yet forward-looking.
