Liverpool indie-folk favourites The Welcome Addition have made a welcome return with 'Many Moons', their first commercial release in three years and a beautifully crafted collection that showcases the band’s rich musicianship and storytelling prowess.
Spanning four tracks, the EP is packed with lush vocal arrangements, elegant string flourishes and memorable songwriting, reaffirming why the group have become such a beloved presence on the UK’s folk and indie scene. Opening with the darkly charming ‘Calathea’, the record quickly establishes its balance of wit, warmth and emotional depth before moving into the standout single ‘Now Forever’, a soaring and bittersweet reflection on self-destruction wrapped in uplifting melodies and intricate harmonies.
Elsewhere, ‘Time In Them’ offers a touching meditation on mental wellbeing and the importance of reaching out to those around us, while closing track ‘I Hope I Die Before You’ delivers a heartfelt and surprisingly humorous perspective on love, ageing and mortality.
The release marks a significant new chapter for the Liverpool five-piece, whose reputation has steadily grown through acclaimed releases and performances stretching from their hometown to audiences across Europe and South America.
