Ria Timkin goes bigger than ever on dazzling new EP 'Favourite Child'

Ria Timkin turns ambition, uncertainty and the sheer thrill of chasing something bigger into glorious widescreen pop on new EP 'Favourite Child'.
The five-track collection is her boldest statement yet, pairing hypnotic vocals with enormous synths, theatrical flourishes and moments of pure pop euphoria. Recorded and co-produced with Tom Wilding at Wildingsounds in Bristol, it carries echoes of CHVRCHES, AURORA and Florence + The Machine while carving out a wonderfully dramatic identity of its own.
‘Slow Mo’ kicks things off with cinematic choruses and shimmering electro-pop, while ‘The Difference’ brings an irresistible brightness. Church bells introduce the spectacular title track before it erupts into a soaring finale, and ‘War Zone’ pushes everything into darker territory with racing 80s synths. ‘Our Time’ then delivers the celebratory finish the record deserves.
Beneath that huge production is a story about fighting for your place, craving approval and eventually learning to believe in yourself.
