With debut album 'Back to Back' arriving this Friday, Vermont singer-songwriter Reid Parsons (they/she) offers one last preview: the glowing, quietly intricate “Lightbulb.” Written for “a special person’s special day,” the track captures the warmth of enduring love through playful metaphors and intimate detail.
Built around a crisp groove and delicate acoustic textures, “Lightbulb” floats with pedal steel, cello, and chamber-pop flourishes—what Parsons calls “a little, delicate but ornately decorated music box.” It’s a gentle ode to simplicity and emotional honesty, grounded in their orchestral Americana style.
The single follows earlier releases “Back to Back” and “Get Out of Bed,” the latter recently praised by The Big Takeover as a standout from “one of Vermont’s most compelling musical voices.”
'Back to Back' was recorded live to tape with engineer Ben Collette and releases April 25 via all major platforms.
