Melbourne alt-rock project Reetoxa has returned with ‘Bottle’, a release that bridges three decades of songwriting into one powerful statement. Fronted by Jason McKee, the track first took shape during his teenage years before being set aside, only now receiving the full studio treatment it always deserved.
Recorded alongside producer Simon Moro at The Avenue Studio in Victoria, the single pairs McKee’s deeply personal songwriting with a driving performance from bassist Kit Riley, guitarist James Ryan and drummer Peter Marin.
Inspired by real-life experiences of friendship, hardship and the often-overlooked realities of mental health, 'Bottle' transforms youthful memories into an emotionally charged rock anthem that still resonates today.
The release also signals growing momentum for Reetoxa, with work continuing on an ambitious double album as discussions surrounding record label partnerships and a potential UK and European tour gather pace.
