New Zealand singer-songwriter Gina Malcom has unveiled 'Traps', the latest single to emerge from her acclaimed debut album, First Rodeo. Following the release of 'Tumblin' In' earlier this year, the new track further highlights Malcom's ability to combine thoughtful songwriting with richly textured Americana influences.
Built around atmospheric guitar work and an understated vocal performance, 'Traps' explores the pressures of contemporary life, from unrealistic expectations and consumer culture to the everyday distractions that can pull people away from what truly matters.
Since stepping away from a successful career in New Zealand television journalism to pursue music, Malcom has steadily built a reputation as an accomplished songwriter. First Rodeo has received support from publications including Americana UK and Country Music News International, alongside extensive airplay across Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
