GET TO KNOW: S1n

After introducing himself with a wealth of bold and bouncing releases throughout 2023, Toronto-based artist and rapper S1n is now back for the new year with his vibrant new single 'I Might Crash'.

Bringing back more of that smooth and passionate aesthetic he is known for, 'I Might Crash' makes for a dazzling return to form for the artist at the helm. With its progressive production, driven textures, and shining vocals layered throughout, he is definitely one to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.

So with the new single out now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

It would have to be Eminem. As a young kid in India who barely spoke the language, it captivated me how he was able to put words together. I was able to relate to what he was saying in his songs and it made me feel tough when I wasn’t.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

I didn’t really form a band or anything. I did rap and made songs which could mostly be classified as trash. I have grown a lot since then.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

My primary inspiration is that I just love music. I love being able to do what I do. I want my music to have the same effect on people that hip-hop had on me as a kid.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Till I Collapse by Eminem. “As soon as a verse starts, I eat at an MC’s heart. What is he thinking? How not to go against me? Smart”. Need I say more?

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

Nothing so far. I am looking forward to the future though!

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Again, I would have to say Eminem.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

There are just so many. I could just go on and on. Eminem, Jay-Z, J-Cole, Kendrick, Nas, Lil Wayne, Drake, Rihanna, Lana Del Ray, The Weeknd, just to name a few.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I see myself realistically being able to collaborate with the artists I mentioned earlier. I wanna be on that level.
