Following up a string of inviting releases over the last few years, Irish outfit Ryders Blü recently returned to deliver their shimmering new single 'As Long As I Got You Babe'.

Channelling a wonderfully rich and inviting pop-rock direction from start to finish, 'As Long As I Got You Babe' makes for a brilliantly intoxicating listen. Filled with sweet textures, vibrant hooks, and beautifully warm vocals throughout, these guys certainly know how to sweep us off our feet.

So with the new single available now, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

Collectively we were both engrossed by the 1975 around the ages of 13 and 14, it was the similarities between George and Matty’s relationship to ours that had us hooked really.

The idea of two best mates just making tunes was just really attractive to us and we haven’t looked back since!

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

Yes it was called sticks and strings, it sounded exactly how you’d expect a band of 15 years olds to sound.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

I really like the idea of duality, I use music to escape from my reality but I also use it to let everything out. Even when I’m hiding from my problems it’s just my release. That’s the only inspiration I could ever ask for.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

There’s a track called “duo” by Sam Gellaitry I discovered on spotify that I listened to 7 times in a row to fully digest everything that was going on. The whole melodic sonics just had me from the start and my first thought was “why didn’t I think of this”. In my eyes it was a masterpiece and at the time I could really relate to the lyrics so it was as if it was directly written for me by me.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

Probably my first gig not because it was a good gig but because it was the first time I knew what I wanted in life. Everything up until that point was a discovery of myself and I finally found what I needed. I gave up on pretty much everything after that and let music just consume me. I haven’t looked back since

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

I'd choose Freddie mercury because everything about his performance is so mesmerising. The only problem with that is I’d be too focused on him I’d probably forget where I am in the tune

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

I’d love to collaborate with the 1975 as I think it’d be a dream come true for me, everything about their production and creative arc has deeply inspired me and I feel as though I’d learn so much

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

It’s hard to know, we’re constantly growing and changing as people and as we get older I’d like our music to reflect that.. really the goal is to make a soundtrack to our lives. Our own little audio logs filled with memories that we can take with us.. I suppose in 5 years time we’ll still be making memories and we plan to make them count.
