GET TO KNOW: BobbyAI

For BobbyAI, electronic music offers a space where technology, identity and human connection can exist together. The Long Island producer and multimedia artist has been steadily building an immersive world around euphoric dance production, cinematic visuals and live performance, reaching audiences across more than 50 countries while becoming an increasingly visible presence within the LGBTQ+ electronic music community.

His latest single ‘Forever Bionic’ pushes that vision further. Blending soaring trance influences, shimmering synths and widescreen electronic production, the track imagines the relationship between humanity and technology through an optimistic lens. Rather than presenting technological change as threatening, BobbyAI uses the idea of becoming “bionic” as a metaphor for resilience, personal evolution and emerging stronger from difficult experiences.

So with the new single out now, we caught up with the artist to find out more about their origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with? 

Probably Ace of Base. They were one of the first groups I remember becoming completely obsessed with when I was really young. There was something about those huge melodies, electronic production and incredibly catchy pop hooks that just stayed with me. Madonna was right there too; I was fascinated by how she constantly reinvented not only her sound, but her entire visual identity. Looking back now, it’s actually funny how much of what I loved about both of them,  the electronic pop, escapism, strong imagery and reinvention, came full circle and eventually found its way into what I do with BobbyAI.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like? 

I actually didn’t. Music came into my life creatively much later, and in a very unconventional way. I didn’t grow up playing in bands or training as a traditional musician. My entry point was technology, visual storytelling and eventually AI, which suddenly gave me a way to translate ideas I had in my head into sound.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music? 

Escapism. I love music that makes reality feel heightened for a few minutes. More cinematic, more euphoric, more electric. A lot of my inspiration comes from nightlife, fashion, technology, nostalgia and imagining the future. I’m interested in that space where something can feel nostalgic and futuristic at the same time.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself? 

“I Wanna Go” by Britney Spears. I love the entire Femme Fatale album because of how relentlessly energetic and dance-driven it is, but “I Wanna Go” has always been a standout for me. It’s euphoric, electronic, insanely catchy and just makes you want to move. I love music that creates that kind of instant rush and hype, and that’s an energy I’m always chasing in my own work. I definitely wish I’d written that one.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be? 

Releasing my first album, Into the Neon. There was something surreal about seeing this thing that had existed entirely in my imagination suddenly become a real body of work that people could actually listen to. I was still figuring out exactly what BobbyAI was, which made that moment exciting because everything felt possible.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with? 

Tiësto. I love the scale and energy of his shows, combined with that feeling of thousands of people completely losing themselves in electronic music at the same time. My music is so driven by that sense of euphoria, movement and escape, so getting to bring the BobbyAI world onto a stage like that would be incredible.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well? 

Heidi Montag. I genuinely love the world she created with Superficial & Superficial 2. There’s this unapologetic, hyper-pop, celebrity-culture energy to it that I think could collide with the futuristic electronic world of BobbyAI in a really fun way. I already have ideas.

Where do you see yourself in five years time? 

I want BobbyAI to have grown far beyond music into a larger creative universe. Music is where so much of that world is taking shape right now, but I see BobbyAI expanding into film, fashion, live experiences and other forms of storytelling, all connected by the same creative identity.

AI is opening doors for artists to create across disciplines in ways that weren’t realistically possible before, and I want to be part of defining what that next generation of artist looks like. I don’t necessarily see the future as being a musician, filmmaker, designer or producer separately. I think those boundaries are starting to disappear, and that’s incredibly exciting to me.
