Emerging from the shadows of Atlanta’s underground, r4vn is summoning a whole world. With the release of 'raven’s inferno', a self-produced body of work drenched in occult mysticism and gothic surrealism, r4vn offers us a portal into a realm where vulnerability and darkness dance hand-in-hand. Blending witch house, fairycore, and spectral electronica, the album channels raw emotion through foggy synths, fractured beats, and r4vn’s ethereal voice, a haunting signature that lingers long after the track ends.

Described as a “dark gothic experiment,” 'raven’s inferno' is a Halloween spellbook of sorts, written in G-minor, lit by candlelight, and built for those who find beauty in the abyss. From the opening charge of 'you coward!' to the ghostly final breath of 'zombie girl', r4vn crafts songs that are as much emotional rituals as they are sonic experiences.

So with the new collection out now, we sat down with r4vn to find out more about the origins and influences that shaped the sound.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

Lana Del Rey was the first artist I truly fell in love with in middle school, I was really inspired by her timeless, vintage aesthetic that felt very raw and authentic with emotion- I love when I can feel the yearning ache just from an artist’s voice & sound- I aim to make others feel my message through my ethereal sounds as well.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

When I was young I used to take piano and voice lessons at this small music store that would host little shows and put all us kids in bands to perform different old songs- with that band I sang covers of songs like “faithfully” by journey- (that was the one I liked to sing the most) but I wasn’t the one choosing the music, this was back in 2015. But it was definitely when I first realized how at home I felt when performing.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

Creating art in any form for me is like alchemy. It is my way of transmuting all of the chaos from within my mind that sometimes can be scary and painful– then taking that darkness and illuminating it into something I deem as beautiful.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Placeholder for the Night By R. Missing (favorite song of all time).

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

The first show I performed my own music in a totally original set with live vocals- It was such a magical experience and I remember feeling so much bliss on the stage, there were a few people who came up to me after to tell me they came just for me, and I will never forget that because it meant so much to me. I was not even the headliner! That was the moment I believe I truly came face to face with the realization of how deep my potential could be- and how far it could go. It was a very surreal moment for me.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Alice Glass, her stage presence and performance abilities have always been so hugely inspiring for me. I look up to her a lot.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

It would be a dream for me to collaborate with R. Missing, Sophie Meiers, Yeule, or Alice Glass.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I have only had my public music accounts for almost 3 years- but I began learning to produce music 6 years ago. In 5 years time I believe I will be well recognized for my unique twist on the Witch House genre- In a more whimsigoth fashion I call “Dark Fairy House.” I have hope that maybe I will be touring- and I will have finally reached the ears of my desired audience of whimsical goth people that hate the government but love the trees. I could see myself being able to do music full time in 5 years- that is my true dream. And living in a fairytale cottage in the woods with a cool studio and modular synthesizers. Plus lots of cats.
