GET TO KNOW: Nazzy The Mic

After spending the last year delivering a fresh and dynamic array of gems, Philadelphia-based rapper Nazzy The Mic is back to continue her impressive streak to date with the bold and pulsing new single 'Sea And Sky'.

Teaming up with fellow emcee Mizxy Slime for the release, 'Sea And Sky' sees the pair unveil a brilliantly smooth and rousing slice of hip-hop gold. With their raw and driven flows riding a bed of bouncing production throughout, there is something wonderfully inventive about this new return.

So with the new single available now, we sat down with her to find out more about her influences and origins throughout the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

Chris Brown. I still love him.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

Never formed a band. But who knows what the future may hold? I’m still young.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

I guess you can say my life. I write about my personal experiences growing up in Philadelphia and what comes with that. I write about what I’m feeling and how I reflect on what’s happened. So I guess you can say my inspiration are those around me, me, and my city.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Can’t think of anything in particular. There’s a lot of hot artists out especially from Philadelphia that’s not well known. I don’t know, but I focus a lot on my writing and how I can get better and better.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

My career is just starting so I’m taking it all in. Ask me in a few years, I hope to have much to reflect on.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Did I mention Chris Brown already? Definitely him. But also Youngboy, H.E.R. J.I the Prince of N.Y, G Herbo, and NoCap.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

All of the above.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Hopefully rich LOL but more importantly free. I want to be able to get my mom a house away from the city and maybe move far away, I don’t know maybe somewhere like Ireland (which I tell people all the time).
