What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

First Band I fell in love with was QUEEN and the first ever artist would be Celine Dion. I have listened to them since my childhood days as my parents influenced me with their music the most.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

Oh yes, this is interesting to reminisce about. I was involved in a band when I was in my 5th grade and ended in my 1st year of Junior High School. It was a school talent show that my friend initiated the idea of recruiting me to be a part of her band but ironically not as a singer, instead, as a keyboardist (funny, cause I never played keys in front of my friends, I am always singing). However, after our first few weeks of rehearsal, my “alpha” friend who is basically the leader of our band, finally gave me a chance to sing, but the songs which I sang were selected by her and one of our school teachers. Because we were still very young, I don’t think I can reference any musician/band that sounds similar to ours in that time hahaha. But I still clearly remember the songs that I had the chance to sing, despite the fact that I didn't take part in choosing the songs. The songs that I sang were Taylor Swift’s “Mine” , Pink’s “Just Give Me A Reason” and Ten2Five’s “I Will Fly”. Note that I sang these songs with my 11 year old to 13 year old soul hahaha. I’ll leave it to your imagination on how my band might sound like.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

People. Society, the hustling journey of anyone basically. It triggers so much desire in me to cheer on their good days and bad days through my music and creations.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Oh wow, “Show Must Go On” - QUEEN or “Confident” - Demi Lovato !

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

The moment I was living together in a small dorm with my college friends during covid 2020 in Malaysia, where I first made my music on my laptop, without any synthesizer, MIDI or whatever, just me and my high school archived notes where I put my idea banks and lyrics I quietly wrote down ever since my high school days. That is my precious epitome. Literally a big decision I commit to myself and start turning my vision into reality as how it is going right now. And to always stay grateful by how my friends there believed in my potential so much and supported me all the time. They helped me turn on my confidence.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Ms. Agnez Mo. She is the first artist that grew my desire to perform, sing and dance on stage in my tender age. And to be really honest, I already have a pitch deck on how our stage would be if we ever get the chance to do so. So yeah Ms. Mo, if you’re seeing this, please look forward to my discography and journey!

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

Billie Eilish. Knowing how I started and how it’s going, my circle of Indonesian music producers kept telling me that I kind of reminded them of Billie’s musical journey. Perhaps a collaboration and a chance to exchange thoughts and mindsets between me and Billie would be very exciting to look forward to one day as we are only one year apart (and we’re both Sagitarrians. Us being combined could be dangerously attractive).

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

*Finger cross* I foresee myself touring with my full length album, rehearsing an epic 2 hours setlist, jumping around from one stage to another, with a diversity of crowds, cultures, even probably age as well, representing my country to the world. Being there for the people and hopefully getting a chance to support good causes.
