After spending the last few months cultivating a rich and vibrant sound for herself, Toronto-based singer and songwriter Elina Filice has now returned to share her latest sun-kissed groove 'Everything About You'.
Collaborating with fellow artist Neolithic for the release, 'Everything About You' is a smooth and captivating return for her. Filled with subtle production, dense textures, and a wonderfully engaging flow throughout, she is definitely one to keep an eye on for the future.
So with the new single available now, we sat her down to discuss her influences and what has inspired her most over the years.

What was the first instrument you learned to play?
I started on the piano, as my parents wanted me to learn to read music before introducing me to guitar. After enough begging they finally got me a guitar, it was love at first strum, an instant affinity I never felt with the keys.
What was the first album you remember owning?
I think it was Avril Lavine, she was (and still is) my hero, a female Canadian bad ass!
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
I was in several bands growing up, the one that comes to mind is my senior year of highschool I was in a band called M.E.H. (and that's pretty much how we sounded, we had fun though!)
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Wow so many, I guess "Bobcaygeon'' comes to mind, not an overly complex song, but simply beautiful songwriting and arrangement, I can't listen to it without crying.
What has been the most thrilling moment about creating your own music?
Being on stage in front of large crowds is about as thrilling as it gets. Moments like that make it all feel worth it.
And what about the most frustrating part?
The moments that make you feel like it's not worth it! So much behind the scenes work goes into an artist's business and the long hours, late nights, and of course the numbers game can be tough!
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
I'd love to share a stage with Doja Cat, I think she's an all around superstar artist and a super creative person.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I'd love to be doing pretty much everything I'm doing now, just on a larger scale! The goal is pretty much just growth- to reach more people with my music. Bigger releases, bigger shows, bigger audience. And also to be working with bigger and badder artists on their music businesses through my label, Red Vine Records!
