What was the first instrument you learned to play?
The guitar, my mum threatened me with either learning ballet or learning an instrument. As a tomboy I knew I was going to learn an instrument because there was no way I would be dancing in a tutu!
What was the first album you remember owning?
Avril Lavigne Let Go 2002 was the first album I owned! I thought her songwriting was incredible and this album was a huge influence on me growing up.
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
No, I have always been a solo musician but that is something that I would LOVE to do! I have always wanted to perform with a band and have a set with a band one day. That's the dream!
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
I wish I'd of written many songs but probably My Heart will Go On - The song is so beautiful and everyone knows it! The vocals are amazing on it too, I'd love to of written it and performed it!
What has been the most thrilling moment about creating your own music?
Probably seeing my name on Itunes and Spotify as its always been my dream. Making the music has been so fun and such an adventure but the most thrilling part has been performing my songs live and actually seeing my name in places!! Another thrilling part of creating my own music has been seeing people sing along to my songs, its a dream come true and a huge passion of mine. I believe music unites people and writing music and having people love my songs and sing along is just awesome!
And what about the most frustrating part?
Probably learning a lot about the music industry that I never wanted to believe. Learning that a lot of it is who you know, PR and having fans in the first place to make an impact. It's an incredibly competitive business and I think that's the most frustrating part because I hate competing, I love encouraging. I've met a few musicians who have been quite catty and unkind and this always frustrates me, because there's no reason to behave that way. As the saying goes 'blowing out someone elses candle doesn't make yours shine any brighter.'
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
Oh my goodness probably Hayley Williams or Taylor Swift. I'm a huge fan of both of these amazing women!! Arguably the reason I went for it with music and they both inspired me to song-write from a very young age. I think I would pass out if either of them walked on a stage that I was on!!!
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I see myself still singing, still performing and hopefully still releasing music! I'd love to perform at some bigger festivals in 5 years time and possibly have a band and be touring by this time but who knows! As long as I'm making music I'm sure I'll be happy.
