What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?

I really remember Michael Jackson, he was everywhere when I was growing up and was so larger than life.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

I formed an experimental group with my friends called Just A Band and we were a mix of electronica, Jazz, hip hop, funk, and African Music.

What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?

I am inspired a lot by observing life, and living it and also a huge love for bringing different sounds that normally shouldn’t be side by side together.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Blue World by Mac Miller, one of my favorite tracks in recent times, I really enjoyed the production, the bounce, the feel I get when listening to it. Special Mention, Tomorrow by Darkovibes… I heard it in Ghana and I was like, did I write this and forget about it? Anytime I play it for my friends they think it’s my unreleased track.

If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?

Being on stage in NYC performing and Q-tip stopping my set as I was performing to ask me to start a song again.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

I love Thundercat a lot and would love to jam with him and Chris Daddy Dave.

And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?

I would love to collab with Anderson Paak, he’s such a great artist and drummer and I think we can make magic together.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Making movies!
