Futurecop! has released the video for his single ‘I’m Missing You’, featuring vocals from Japanese artist YUSA and taken from the new album Wind, Town & Flowers. A shimmering, dreamlike atmosphere delivered on a platter of gorgeous synthesisers, the synth-wave artist leans into his pop side, whilst the visuals keep command of the cinematic, world-building nature Futurecop! is known for.

The artist explains, “I’m Missing You is really where the whole Wind, Town & Flowers project began. One evening, I watched a Japanese TV show on Netflix called Beach Boys, and I completely fell in love with it. It sent me down a rabbit hole of binge-watching similar shows, from Takuya Kimura dramas to Orange Days. That world of innocent, wholesome, inspirational and emotional storytelling became the spark for this track. To make the track feel authentic, I searched for the right voice and discovered a Japanese singer called YUSA. As soon as I heard her, I knew she was perfect.”

Manchester-born producer Manzur Iqbal, the artist behind the Futurecop! The project has long balanced graceful electronic textures and focuses on the emotions they contain. YUSA’s vocals are a brilliant addition to this hazy, lush soundscape.

With Anise Mariko Lew and Yumiko Kobayashi at the helm, the video tells a nostalgic tale of someone’s first love.
