The War On Drugs return in spectacular fashion with ‘Who’s That’, their first newly released studio recording since 2022 and a towering reminder of the band's ability to make introspection sound enormous.

Written and produced by Adam Granduciel at his Burbank studio, the single reportedly came together in just ten minutes between morning coffee and the school run. From that spontaneous beginning emerges a beautifully constructed anthem that grows steadily in scale, propelled by Anthony LaMarca's drums, Dave Hartley's bass and a swirling mass of Granduciel's electric guitars and keyboards.

Beneath that widescreen production sits something considerably more vulnerable. ‘Who’s That’ explores the challenge of accepting yourself while navigating anxiety, depression and self-doubt, turning an intensely personal struggle into a soaring piece of rock music.

The single arrives alongside a surreal video directed by Max Flick, following Granduciel through the streets of Burbank during a late-night walk.
