Musicians Sukanya Chattopadhyay and Arashkha Khalatbari have unveiled SHAKTI Volume 3, the latest chapter in their ongoing collaborative project exploring spirituality, cultural exchange and contemporary sonic experimentation.

The three-track release brings together a diverse range of influences, weaving together traditional vocal forms, electronic production and global folk traditions. Drawing inspiration from musical cultures spanning India, Bangladesh, Lithuania and Réunion Island, the project continues the duo’s commitment to creating work that exists between heritage and innovation.

Across the EP, themes of transformation, renewal and feminine strength take centre stage. Traditional Hindustani classical music, Bengali folk influences and Lithuanian vocal traditions are reinterpreted through atmospheric synthesisers, immersive sound design and contemporary electronic textures. The result is a body of work that feels both deeply rooted in tradition and strikingly modern in execution.

Chattopadhyay, a Kolkata-based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist known for her work across classical and contemporary disciplines, joins forces once again with French-Iranian composer and multidisciplinary artist Khalatbari, whose career has spanned music, theatre, film and performance. Together, they continue to develop a creative partnership that places cultural dialogue and artistic exploration at its centre.
