Following early buzz from their first two singles 'Pencil Chewer' and 'Boys Club', East Yorkshire trio Strange Pink mark a bold arrival with their debut EP 'Out Of Focus'. The six-track collection blends grunge, alt-rock and psych-leaning textures with intimate, often confrontational lyricism, a sound that’s earned support from BBC 6Music, Radio X, and tastemakers across the UK underground.
Recorded at York’s Young Thugs Studio with producer Nick ‘The Muscle’ Russell and mastered by Ed Woods (The Who, Idlewild), 'Out Of Focus' is a record built on connection, conviction and catharsis. The band’s influences of Sonic Youth, Built to Spill, and L7 are clear, but Strange Pink deliver something distinctly their own.
“This EP reflects the past few years of our lives — personal, political, emotional,” the band say. “We’re proud of how it sounds and what it stands for.”
