Electronic pop duo Purity Ring return with their most experimental and immersive release yet, the boundary-pushing two-part single 'many lives / part II', self-released via the fellowship. Alongside the drop, they’ve shared a cinematic music video directed by longtime visual collaborator Mike Sunday.

'many lives' is a kaleidoscopic fusion of glitchy breakbeats, vocoded choral layers, and digital ambiance that draws inspiration from classic anime soundtracks like Ghost in the Shell. Its introspective lyrics thread a surreal meditation on memory and loss through a high-tempo sonic voyage.

In contrast, companion track 'part II' offers a breath of stillness, anchored by classical guitar and minimalist textures. The duo describe the project as “the sun we’ve been orbiting around for the past few years,” representing the emotional and sonic core of their recent creative output.

The accompanying video imagines Purity Ring’s music as the score to an RPG world, influenced by NieR: Automata and Final Fantasy X. The visual introduces two ethereal characters modelled after members mj and Corin, setting the stage for a new era of storytelling from the duo.
