Mali Mae - 'Making Me Cry'

Mali Mae has unveiled a new single that places vulnerability at the centre of her next creative chapter.

“Making Me Cry” explores the pressure of wanting to make family proud while privately worrying that those efforts may never feel sufficient.

The London-based musician builds the track around guitars, bass and piano, with the arrangement gradually becoming more intense as the emotions in the lyrics build.

Mali’s background includes classical violin training and study at the Royal Northern College of Music, but her current work is moving towards a more immediate alternative-pop sound.

The upcoming five-song EP is expected to continue that focus on personal experiences and emotional release.
