Kenny Wayne Shepherd will release Ledbetter Heights (The 30th Anniversary Sessions) on May 8, marking three decades since the album that launched his career.
The blues-rock guitarist has re-recorded the original material, bringing a more seasoned perspective to songs first recorded in the mid-90s. The announcement is accompanied by the release of a new version of “Deja Voodoo.”
Shepherd worked with longtime collaborators including drummer Chris “Whipper” Layton and co-producer Jerry Harrison on the project. He also returned to the same guitar equipment used during the original sessions.
The anniversary release coincides with Shepherd’s ongoing tour, where he is performing the album live in full alongside selections from across his catalogue.
