UK musician and producer Owen Gillham has unveiled I AM HANDS, a new musical project centred around healing, reflection and creative renewal. The self-titled debut album draws together material developed over the past decade, blending elements of neo-folk, ambient electronica and instrumental composition into a deeply personal collection of songs.
The project emerged following the loss of Gillham’s father and close friend, fellow musician James McCully. Revisiting unfinished recordings and musical sketches created during their friendship became a way of processing grief while finding purpose in difficult circumstances. What began as fragments of ideas gradually evolved into a fully realised album that balances melancholy with hope.
Though much of the record is instrumental, its emotional weight remains at the forefront, carried by rich production and atmospheric arrangements. The release also serves a charitable purpose, with all income generated from album sales being donated to the mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
Previously known for collaborations with artists including Junkboy, Sophie Mackintosh and Ellie Madeland, Gillham now introduces I AM HANDS as both a creative milestone and a meaningful tribute to those he has lost.
