Gweilo confronts the shadows of fatherhood on mesmerising new single 'Bitch Father'

Liverpool's Gweilo continues to establish a fascinating presence in experimental pop with his latest single ‘Bitch Father’, a beautifully atmospheric release that transforms deeply personal experiences into an evocative musical statement.
Following previous offerings ‘Perfection Isn’t Hard!’ and ‘Mwmd (Now Its Died)’, the track showcases the artist's distinctive ability to combine nostalgic electronic influences with contemporary production and emotionally revealing songwriting.
Built around shimmering synthesisers, delicate guitar melodies and Gweilo's captivating falsetto, ‘Bitch Father’ unfolds with a dreamlike elegance, creating an intimate atmosphere that perfectly complements its vulnerable subject matter.
Inspired by the musician's own experiences of growing up without a present father, the song emerged during his early experiences of parenthood, prompting a powerful period of reflection on childhood, absence and unresolved grief.
With a new EP expected in early December, ‘Bitch Father’ offers another intriguing glimpse into the creative ambitions of an emerging artist bringing refreshing originality to Liverpool's independent music scene.
