Having already established her place on the scene with a flurry of fresh and enigmatic delights these last few years, New York-based artist Lily Hain is back at it again with her dreamy new single 'Wrapped Up'.
Channelling more of that sweet and breezy alt-pop aesthetic she has been building for herself over the years, 'Wrapped Up' makes for a beautifully sweet and immersive listen. With her bright and shimmering voice layered across an airy production from start to finish, she is continuing to cement herself as one of the more impressive names on the rise with this one.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
Hilary Duff or Aly & AJ. They were staples of my childhood!
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
I’m not sure if this really counts but I made a band when I was 10 with some friends that lasted around 4 days. We were on a beach trip and decided to form a band called “The Quad.” I think we only wrote one song - I don’t know if we ever named it but I remember the lyrics were about life being a rollercoaster. Really deep, cutting edge stuff!
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
I get inspiration from a lot of different people, artists, and experiences so it’s hard to pinpoint just one thing. I guess the main thing I pull inspiration from is just my personal life. I think my best and most authentic songs come from writing about personal experiences and what they taught me.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
That’s a tough one! Maybe “Same Light” by Philine Sonny or literally any Holly Humberstone song.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
I feel like I’m just starting out and there are so many career highlights that I’m looking forward to living that I don’t feel the need to relive any of my past. That being said, if I had to choose something it’d probably be my time in the studio recording these album songs. The recording process brought me so much joy during a time that wasn’t always the easiest and I have really fond memories of the process. I’m looking forward to getting back in the studio soon with some of the same people to start working on my next project!
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
So many!! The first person that popped up in my head though is Miley Cyrus. I grew up listening to her and she’s such a natural performer. I’ve also seen videos of her performing with less experienced artists and she seems to put everyone she performs with at ease. As someone who has a bit of anxiety on stage, I think performing with her would be fun and comforting.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Ooooh Billie Eilish for sure. I feel like our voices would blend well together and we could make some really wild harmony stacks.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Hopefully working on a 4th album and touring internationally!
