Following up a flurry of fresh and exciting releases over the last few years, which have seen him invited to perform at countless Ibiza parties, German DJ and producer Black Box has now teamed up with fellow artist Vally Mo for the remix of his recent breakout hit 'Weekend'.
Building on the bold and bouncing energy of the original, this Vally Mo rework brings a whole new vibe to the belting club anthem. Coupling broad and euphoric textures with pounding beats throughout, if this doesn't get you ready for the summer then nothing will.
So with the new track out now, we sat down with Black Box to find out more about his background and what has inspired him lately.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
I really love Michael Jackson. Pure talent. He was not afraid to be different with his music style and that inspires me.
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
No band. I used to jam with my family a lot. My dad plays the guitar and keyboard. So we used to jam together.
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
Bringing joy to people through my music. Just touching peoples lives for a moment and transporting them into a positive frame of mind through my music.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Your Body is a Wonderland from John Mayer. Love those lyrics.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
I would love to relive the first time I got to DJ in front of people after the pandemic. Many of my closest friends were there. It was lovely just to experience that feeling of seeing my music’s effect on them, after that troublesome time.
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
I would love to DJ back-to-back with Carl Cox or Solomun. Both of them are legends to me.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Solomon, Artbat, Monolink.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I don’t have fixed goals for myself. I want to be open to the many opportunities that life throws at me and grab them as they come.
