What was the first instrument you learned to play?

The Piano.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Man, that’s a tough one. It could have been a cranberries album or The Smashing Pumpkins. I can’t remember last week. So, It could be something totally different. Haha.

Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?

I was in a pop group called ‘Good Vibrations’. It was short lived, but we just sang cover songs.

What is a song you wish you had written yourself?

Wow. There are too many to name. I may have to go back to an era way before my time with ‘Let It Be’ by the Beatles or ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon. I love those oldies/classics. If I had to pick from something more modern, maybe James Bay “Hold Back The River” or pretty much anything Ed Sheeran has ever written. Haha.

What has been the most thrilling moment about creating your own music?

The most thrilling moments for me are usually when the songs just write themselves. The melodies flow like water. The lyrics come out of my mouth before I even have a chance to think. It’s the moments when it feels like something greater than you is flowing through you. It’s hard to explain, but when it happens, it’s gold.

And what about the most frustrating part?

It’s the complete opposite from the previous question. The dreaded writer’s block. The times when no matter what I try or do, nothing feels right. That’s incredibly frustrating. But, in these moments, ya just have to take a step away, go on a walk or pick up a paint brush and find some other way to create. It eventually comes.

Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?

Again, so many… Ed Sheeran is definitely up there. Miley Cyrus is another that I think would be amazing.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Drinking a mojito on a huge yacht somewhere off the coast of Fiji. Haha. But as far as my career goes, I see myself still doing what I love, which is creating and making art. I see myself gaining more traction in the sync world of film and television. And most definitely, a lot more live shows.
