After the release of their highly-praised 2018 LP 'IC-01 Hanoi', Unknown Mortal Orchestra have now announced their plans for a double studio album, 'V', which is set to be released on the 17th March via Jagjaguwar.
The new full-length include the previously shared outing 'I Killed Captain Cook', and is being previewed by the new lead single 'Layla', which comes accompanied by a Vira-Lata-directed video.
Speaking about the new release, group leader Ruban Nielson said, “In Hawaii, everything shifted off of me and my music. Suddenly, I was spending more time figuring out what others need and what my role is within my family. I also learned that things I thought were true of myself are bigger than I thought. My way of making mischief - that’s not just me - that’s my whole Polynesian side. I thought I was walking away from music to focus on family, but the two ended up connecting.”
