Fresh from a sold-out headline performance at The Stag’s Head in Hoxton and a run of dates supporting The Lilacs, Sam Foster Smith returns with the uplifting new single 'Runaways'.

Bursting with shimmering guitars, sparkling keys and irresistible melodic hooks, the track further showcases the songwriter’s talent for crafting anthemic indie-rock that feels tailor-made for festival crowds and late-night singalongs. Driven by infectious rhythms and rich storytelling, ‘Runaways’ combines emotional depth with an undeniable sense of momentum.

Following the introspective themes of previous release ‘Go With The Flow’, Smith takes a more narrative approach here, exploring ideas of inheritance, identity and the complicated legacies passed between generations. The result is a vivid character-driven song wrapped in soaring instrumentation and memorable choruses.

Based between London and the West Country, Smith has quickly built a reputation as one of the UK indie scene’s most promising emerging artists, earning support from BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio while sharing stages with acts including The K’s.

With appearances lined up at Isle of Wight Festival and an acoustic showcase at the Gibson Garage, ‘Runaways’ arrives at a pivotal moment in Sam Foster Smith’s rapid rise.
