Musroe - 'Left2Rot/Now'

Musroe has unveiled a new paired release built around two opposing emotional states.

“Left2Rot” begins with a tense, increasingly enclosed arrangement, using layered vocals and electric guitar to build towards a sudden break. “Now” follows immediately, replacing that pressure with a slower, dream-pop atmosphere and a more spacious sense of stillness.

The Montréal-based artist describes the two songs as connected parts of one experience: first becoming consumed by a feeling, then recognising that the moment has passed.

“Now” was developed through experimentation with a looper pedal, with four separate guitar parts slowed down and layered together.

The two tracks form the first introduction to Musroe’s forthcoming EP EPHEMERA, which will continue her interest in time, impermanence and multidisciplinary presentation.
