With their eagerly-awaited new album 'As The Love Continues' set to land in the middle of next month, Mogwai are looking to wet our appetites even more as they deliver their euphoric new single 'Ritchie Sacramento'.
Following on from the lead track 'Dry Fantasy' in previewing their tenth LP, 'Ritchie Sacramento' sees the Scottish outfit back to their best. With its rich and dynamic sound, the release pays tribute to those the band have lost over the years.
Adding about the track, Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite said, “’Ritchie Sacramento’s title came from a misunderstanding a friend of ours had about how to say Ryuichi Sakamoto. The lyrics were inspired by a story Bob Nastanovich shared about his friend and bandmate David Berman who proclaimed ‘Rise Crystal Spear’ as he threw a shovel at a sports car. The song is dedicated to all the musician friends we’ve lost over the years.”
