New Jersey singer and songwriter Jason Bembry is beginning the new year with a new angle, unveiling ‘Frozen Hearts’, a single that broods with an alt-pop darkness blended with his usual gratitude and optimism.

Beautiful, but icy keys introduce the track, tender, high-pitched melodies, then gracefully reveal a tense piano arpeggio and a heartfelt vocal. Drums carry the upbeat tendencies. Each time the melody returns, it re-grounds the music, performed in between soaring, infectious choruses.

Jason explains, “I have been waiting for the right time to begin this new era of music. With the world becoming increasingly dark and us all feeling more separated from one another, the time is now. I wanted to write music that meets us where we are in these moments of grief, anger, resentment, and isolation. Frozen Hearts is not a breakup song. It’s looking at the world around us and realising that, to move forward, we need to sit with these strong emotions long enough to strike the match to warm our own hearts.”

A classically trained pianist with a background in theory and composition, Bembry’s course in recent years has marked him as a pop writer on the rise.
