What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
The first band I fell in love with was Coldplay and artist it would have to be Kendrick Lamar. Parachutes by Coldplay is such a flawless album I draw so much inspiration and feelings from that album.
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
Well, formally no. My best friends and I would jam all the time. We was apart of the youth musician group at a local Harlem Church growing up. The first song I ever learned on the drums was Clocks by Coldplay.
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
Currently it would have to be therapy. Im learning so much about myself. Understanding what I’m feeling, and why I’m feeling a certain emotions has change my thought process completely when writing songs. It’s not just “oh this sounds cool” it’s “maybe I should go deeper in this emotion more and see who can relate to this.”
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Kendrick Lamar - Sing about me. No explanation needed. Just go listen to that song and you will understand.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
That I’m not too sure about. Maybe writing music on my iPhone on the 2 train headed to work in Brooklyn during the winter time.
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
Tyler, the creator. He is just so free up there.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Lausse The Cat, Mereba, and Tobi Lou
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Hopefully creating new art and exploring new channels of creativity. I love film just as much I do music and Im hoping the next 5 years will show that.
