UK-based recording artist Kansah is kicking off the summer in style with his infectious new single 'Sexy', a vibrant fusion of Afrobeats, Afro house, UK rap, R&B, and dancefloor-ready energy.
Created between Los Angeles and the UK, 'Sexy' evolved from a traditional Afrobeats concept into a polished Afro house anthem built for festivals, warm nights, and packed dancefloors.
So with the new single out now, we sat down with him to discuss origins and influnces over the years.
What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
2pac
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
No but I thought about it!
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
Personal life events. I also enjoy writing about fictional stories as if they were real people in real life situations however since doing Afrobeats, I enjoy writing about things that bring joy and just having a good time. I enjoy the balance of the 2.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
I have written all my own music. I consider myself a lyricist.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
I love performing so for me every time I connect with the audience on a live stage, that’s what means most to me about my career.
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
Lil Wayne without a doubt!
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Again, Lil Wayne however I would love to collaborate with the likes of Omah Lay, Lojay, Dave and ArrDee.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Just keep doing what I love doing, recording and performing but on a much bigger scale.
Listen to Kansah's new single 'Sexy' below.
