Following on from a string of immersive singles already this year, Singaporean artist Haneri returns once again to deliver her shimmering new offering 'Thin Line'.
Capturing more of that warm and enchanting alt-pop aesthetic she is known for, 'Thin Line' makes for a rousing return to form for the artist at the helm. With her broad and passionate voice layered across an atmospheric production from start to finish, she is returning to the fold with one of her most captivating cuts to date here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her origins and influences over the years.

What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
According to my mom it’s Whitney Huston, according to me it’s Alan Menken (I watched a lot of Disney growing up, also does that count as a band/artist?)
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
I was in a bunch of different bands growing up! They were mainly indie or punk, one of them was a girl punk band called S.I.P - short for Sweetness In Personification lol *cringe*
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
Life. People. Magic and situations. My friends, family and strangers are willing to share their stories with me. Movies, television, and other songs. There’s so much inspiration everywhere! I just try to keep myself open.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Ooofff there are SO MANYYYYY!! Haha but there’s this beautiful song by Wafia called “Pick Me” and I guess for this season in my life it really is a soft anthem to prioritize myself and not feel selfish about it.
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
When I was younger in my career I was so obsessed with climbing some kind of imaginary ladder, but I’m learning to love the process and I don’t think I’d go back any moment. I’m loving the moment I’m in and I’m so glad to be here.
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
Honestly Caroline Polacheck or Shy Martin.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Also Caroline Polacheck and shy martin haha
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Happy.
But also I’m working on a big musical project so I’m hoping that takes off too *manifesting*
