After breaking onto the scene with his instantly impactful debut single 'Up Again', Illinois-based rapper Cashh Los is looking to continue his upward ascent with the pounding new offering 'Leave Me Alone'.
Bringing back more of that bold and driven aesthetic he is known for, 'Leave Me Alone' makes for a fresh and passionate listen throughout. With his breezy flow riding across a galloping production from beginning to end, he is cementing himself as one of the more exciting names doing the rounds right now.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his background and influences over the years.
What was the first band or artist you fell in love with?
I was exposed to so many artists growing up but off the top of my head, Michael Jackson. I had the Michael Jackson Moonwalker VHS tape as a kid and I used to watch it everyday faithfully.
Did you ever form a band when you were younger and if so, what did they sound like?
I tried to start a rap group, I think in middle school but we never got the chance to actually record the music. The ambition was there though.
What has been your primary inspiration in writing music?
I tend to be more inspired when I isolate myself because then I’m able to really lock in with my thoughts and tap into that creative side with no distractions. So usually the thoughts and feelings that I can’t really express verbally serve as my inspiration for writing.
What is a song you wish you had written yourself?
Something About You by Dornik
If there was any moment in your career you could relive, what would it be?
This one is recent actually. It would have to be the last showcase I did because the crowd went crazy, the energy was super lit and somebody passed out during my set and I’m not exaggerating either, it was wild…
Which artist would you most love to share a stage with?
Kaytranada. I feel like that would be a vibe. And Kodak too. That would be crazy.
And is there an artist you would love to collaborate with as well?
Brent Faiyaz, Miguel, and Lauryn Hill.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Hopefully not working a 9-5, on tour in different countries, and well established in music, acting, and fashion.
