London-based producer and pop innovator Georgia is back with her first new music in nearly two years, and as expected, it slaps. The new single 'Wanna Play' is a synth-driven, electro-punk burst of energy that reaffirms Georgia’s place as one of the UK’s most fearless and inventive voices in alt-pop.
Co-produced with long-time collaborator Mark Ralph (Years & Years, Daniel Avery, Hot Chip), the track arrives with a high-octane 160bpm pulse and a playful, defiant tone. Georgia calls it “a bit of fun really,” adding: “I wrote this song at a complete crossroads in my life, which is why I stuck with the 160bpm! It’s a fast tempo punk-electro song, inspired by early Knife songs and 80s Depeche Mode basslines. I wanted to explore my love for synths again!”
'Wanna Play' marks a vibrant return to Georgia’s playground, evoking the adrenaline of club culture and the grit of early electro-pop while carving something uniquely her own. The track follows 2020’s Mercury Prize-shortlisted album 'Seeking Thrills', and continues her creative evolution from introspective dancefloor moments to explosive sonic liberation.
