Over these last few years, London-based Malaysian artist Boey has been quick to establish himself as one of the more immersive names doing the rounds. Adopting this wonderfully warm and alluring aesthetic for everything he produces, his tenure to date has been this wildly explorative one, always looking to build on what has come before. And after making waves with his much-loved debut LP 'Happy' back in March, he is back once again to share his latest studio album 'Acoustic Space', a record that continues that captivating spirit of his.
Much like what we experienced on 'Happy', his newest endeavour finds him in a wonderfully sombre and emotive guise. Featuring the previously unveiled gems 'Kudos' and 'Hurt No More', this sixteen-track odyssey makes for a wonderfully warm and inviting listen. Brimming with this sweet and passionate texture from start to finish, 'Acoustic Space' sees him adopt some of his more progressive material to date.
While these last few months have certainly been some of his most prolific on record, 'Acoustic Space' shows he still has plenty of fresh and compelling ideas in which to pursue. Oozing with this tender approach to his songwriting at every turn, Boey remains a vibrant addition to the capital's vibrant music scene.
